Glen first began road racing in 1989 however he couldn’t really afford the sport and raced intermittently only for two years. Ten years later after getting his business up and running he came back to the sport and raced a Yamaha R6, A Suzuki GSXR600 and a Kawasaki ZXR600. He achieved a number of respectable results winning a number of club series, and also the " Suzuki Winter Series" of that era. He also had some top three finishes at national level 600cc Supersport races and in the street races of Wanganui and Paeroa.
After the 600cc bikes he took a couple of years off and then came back to race in the NZ Superbike class on a 2004 model Kawasaki ZX10R. Top ten results at national level resulted and the following year with the help of Hamilton Motorcycle Center he rode a 2005 model ZX10R. The cost in time and money to race a Superbike meant a change to the NZ Formula 3 class in 2007. He managed to win the New Zealand National Title in this class in 2008 and followed this up with wins in 2009 on the same Suzuki SV650.
In 2010 he and his mates built a chrome-moly frame and a monocoque body around the Suzuki SV650 motor and he took this onto win the 2010 Formula 3 title as well. 2010 has seen Glen build up a Yamaha FZR1000 Post Classic race-bike and he will be riding this in 2011.
In his spare time Glen also writes articles for NZ Bike Rider Magazine. Topics for these are in main Race Interviews, Race bike tests and Riding technique articles. Go to articles and bulletins.
