Started in the late 80's but struggled to be able to afford the sport and raced intermittently only.
Took a few years off and came back to the sport properly (and with some money!) in the late 90's.
Raced a Yamaha R6 and achieved a number of
respectable results with wins in the Auckland regional club series, and the " Suzuki Series" of that era. Had some top three finishes in national 600cc Supersport races and street races.
Took another couple of years off then moved on to racing in the Superbike class on a 2004 model Kawasaki ZX10R - this was a challenge, but was also a lot of fun! Raced a 2005 Kawasaki ZX10R the following year with the help of Hamilton Motorcycle Center but the cost of competing in the superbike meant a change to the Formula 3 class in 2007. I managed to win the New Zealand national title in this class in 2008, 2009 and 2010 on a Suzuki SV650.
